Product Information

Black tea from Darjeeling enjoys a special reputation. After harvesting, it is fermented and gently dried in order to unfold its special aromas in the cup.
Invigorating delights from the best tea gardens in the world:
Even today, large, hierarchically organized plantations characterize the picture in the regions and are reminiscent of colonial times. But through the commitment of Tea Promoters India (TPI) a change is taking place. Since the GEPA partner converted one of the first tea gardens in Darjeeling, India, to organic cultivation thirty years ago, many have followed his good example. The participation of the tea workers became a model for all fair trade tea gardens.
In harmony with nature, they not only harvest fantastic teas. Instead, they use ecological methods to secure their future in times of climate change.

Sustainability:
We are proud that all GEPA teas are now organically certified or additionally bear the Naturland certification.
GEPA supports this valuable work by promoting the conversion, offering courses in organic farming and enabling the realization of ecological and social projects through fair trade premiums.
At the same time, we also make sure that our products are completely environmentally friendly. For tea bags, for example, we use organic cotton threads and aroma protection films made from predominantly renewable raw materials.
